Market Basket Foods of LA and TX is the latest grocery retailer to embrace the convenience of offering customized greeting cards with shoppers’ online orders.

The retailer, with 31 locations in Texas and Louisiana, recently partnered with Card Isle, an innovator in the greeting card space with a growing presence in the retail grocery, floral and gift industries.

With a print-on-demand business model, supported by hundreds of independent artists, Card Isle offers shoppers exclusive greeting card designs conveniently bundled with their online grocery/floral orders.

Andrew Westbrook, Market Basket E-Commerce Manager and Director of Advertising, saw the potential early on.

“As the E-Commerce Manager, I was very interested in filling the void that was greeting cards in our online space,” he says. Westbrook launched and promoted the program in Market Basket’s top 11 e-commerce locations, and says early feedback from customers and associates has been very favorable.

Market Basket shoppers can access Card Isle online greeting cards through the retailer’s MB2Go portal on its website.

After choosing and personalizing the perfect card, shoppers add the card to their online order, where it is printed on-demand at their participating Market Basket store and included with their online grocery order.

Card Isle recently enhanced convenience by posting QR codes around the store. From there, in-store shoppers access a custom website where they can choose cards to be printed at customer service before leaving the store.

Whether in-store or online, shoppers have access to thousands of customizable greeting card designs across a wide variety of occasions.

By teaming with Card Isle, Market Basket is offering shoppers a new level of convenience, while boosting its online order basket value.

Best of all, Market Basket store associates have found the turnkey Card Isle system and printers easy to use, Westbrook reports.
